Sobhy Thomas Shop was established in 1934 at the watch commercial center of Cairo (Ataba) by Sobhy Thomas (1909-1971).

The type of our operation was distributing watches several brands in the Egyptian market whole sellers. We were one of four companies dealing in this field, and there was no watches' import in that time.

Since 1957, Mr. George Sobhy Thomas was appointed as Managing Director of the company. He perceived the mission set by his father Sobhy Thomas.

Sobhy Thomas Shop started the import business direct from Switzerland. We were importing many brands such as: Damas, Goulana, Louise-Rosel, Cyma, Tredeco, odo, Sandoz, Olma, Elgin, Claude-Helier, Zodiac, Arsa, Cortebert, etc...

Sobhy Thomas Shop enlarged its business by getting new agencies like "Wherle" the most famous German alarm clocks at that time, also
"West End" the widely distributed watch in the Arab world.

In 1980, Mr. George S. Thomas succeeded to become the sole agent in Egypt for the world famous brand Zenith.

In addition to the above, the company had the right to manufacture and distribute the well known "Jovial" in Egypt(1980-1985).
In 1985, the company purchased the brand name "Tell" in Switzerland.

Based on our experience in the Egyptian market, Casio Computer Ltd. selected our company to distribute Casio time-pieces in Egypt (1992).

The grandson El-Amir George Thomas, after his graduation from the Higher Technology University (1994), joined the company as Managing Director and Procurement Manager.
He also launched a new retail sales company.
